Chloe Villamayor

BIO

Chloe Villamayor is a Los Angeles-based artist whose works explore the role of the body in the physicalization of the internal and intangible. She believes music is not simply a reflection of the world but a tool to heal it and strives to create opportunities for people to transform what's within into movement and growth. As a composer, songwriter, violinist, vocalist, producer, and artistic collaborator, her works span diverse genres, sonic worlds, and practices, but all contain a sense of rawness and vulnerability.

Chloe is a 2020-2021 Luna Lab alumni, a Curtis Summerfest 2020 alumni, and a 2020-2021 Los Angeles Philharmonic Composer Fellowship Program (CFP) alumni. She has worked with a wide variety of classical ensembles, including Hub New Music, members of the LA Phil, members of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Salastina, the Northern Kentucky University Chamber Choir, members of the International Contemporary Ensemble, and HEX. Additionally, Chloe has collaborated with the rock band Frat Mouse, choreographers from USC’s Kaufman School of Dance, and filmmakers from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Chloe is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in music composition at the University of Southern California, where she has studied with Christopher Trapani, Ted Hearne, Nina Young, and Camae Ayewa (Dennis).
